Ribs

I attempted ribs for the first time this past weekend.  Tim says his favorite meal is ribs, so he was more than excited to see that the local meat market had ribs on sale.  I think they went over pretty good!  And, I think it is safe to say Carter was a fan too!

See Kenai drooling back there?  Poor girl!
 Cleaned the bone!

Run Kenai!

This is what I found when I heard giggling in the living room.  Poor Kenai has no where to hide when Carter comes for her...
And, does Carter not look like such a big boy in this picture?  Ahh, where has time gone?

Recovery

Timmy got to play doctor at home and drain some fluid from Kenai's knee.  Figured we would save ourselves another vet bill. :)
As far as recovery is going, Kenai is a champ.  She is ready to run wild and free, so it is hard to keep her under control at times.  But, she did finally get to go out on a walk this week.  She was just beaming walking down the block.  We love you Kenai, keep hanging in there!!!

Poor Girl

Back in February Kenai fell off the playground equipment and was limping.  This limping continued for quite some time, and we decided to take her in to be seen.  We were told she probably had a partial tear in her doggy ACL.  The surgery to fix it is a big deal, so we put if off, hoping her leg would heal itself.  Well, fast forward a few months, and she was still limping.  We finally decided surgery was our only option.  On Tuesday, she went in for the big day.  It was so sad dropping her off knowing what was coming for her.  (Yes, I was crying.)  After the surgery Kenai got to spend the night at the Doggy Hospital.  Today Tim picked her up and brought her home.  It was so sad seeing her.  Looking into her eyes, you could just tell she was sad and in pain.  She will be confined to her kennel for 2 weeks, and after that time we can start walking her the distance of 3 houses twice a day.  In about 4 months she will be almost good to go, and then at the end of 6 months, we should have our happy girl back.  Needless to say, it will be a long winter for her.  We are so proud of our amazing girl, and we hope for a pain free recovery!  Love you Kenai!

32 Years

Happy 32nd Birthday Dr. Timmy.  We had a great day celebrating your special day.  We went to a community rec center and I got to rock climb for the first time ever.  It was so much fun, and I can not wait to go back.  After our arms were worn out, we hit up the pool.  Carter is getting so good at swimming, and will now float on his back by himself.  We then went out to dinner, and came home to eat blueberry pie.  We were so exhausted from our busy day that we were all in bed by 8:45!  What a great end to a wonderful family day!!!  Happy Birthday Timmy, this is going to be a great year!
