Update

*Update: Carter slept for 2 1/2 hours with his mask on.  Right after I had fallen asleep I heard him cry out, so I ran in there to comfort him.  He had the mask half way off his face, so I just took it off of him.  I figured for the first sleep with it, 2 1/2 hours was really good!  Go Carter Go!!!!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!

That is Carter, asleep, with the machine turned on!!  AMAZING!!!  I am so proud of my little man.  I have no idea how long it it going to last, but it has been on for 30 minutes now and I am already soooo proud!!  My little man is a trooper, and he will win in the end.  Thanks again to my wonderful Aunts for my video monitor.  It has given me so much peace, and tonight is going to be no different.  Sleep well my little Angel, you deserve it!!!

Getting There

Carter is making strides with the CPAP mask.  He actually lets me put it on him now.  I did sneak it on him during the night while he was asleep.  He was fine with it until I turned on the machine.  And then he freaked out!!  So, we still have a long way to go, but hopefully someday soon he will be sleeping with it on.

Here are some more pictures of our great day at the park.  Still not done with all the 200 pictures I took that day.  Hopefully there will be some good ones coming up!

Playing at the Park

Carter and I headed out to the park today to take some photos and to hunt down some ducks.  Carter had a blast, and it was nice to get out and take some photos.  We wish Timmy could have been with us, but we shall survive.  Some good news tonight: I got Carter to wear his CPAP mask tonight for a few minutes.  Big improvement from any other day!  So tomorrow we will try sleeping with it...  Enjoy a sneak peak at some of the pictures I took.

Feeling Fruity

$15 sure goes a long ways here in Utah.  The down side: I had to be there at 7:00 on a Saturday to get all theses goodies.  I guess this Mamma can do it for some good, cheap food!

Look What I Got

This boy is feeling like a stud with his new set of wheels!!  Does he not look awesome on his new bike?  Can't wait till Daddy gets home and pushes him down to the park.
Ohhhh, those toes  might reach one of these days!!

Pool Time

Carter and I had a fun play date with the neighbor.  It has been super hot here, so we went over there to go swimming in their kiddy pool.  Carter was hesitant at first, but within minutes was splashing and goofing off.  Once the Otter Pops came out, he was sold.  It is nice having a friend two doors down, and nice to have a play mate for Carter.
In other Carter news, all seems to be going great.  He picks up about 2 words a day, so he is learning like crazy.  He was evaluated by a speech therapist this week, and she said he would not have to start therapy until he is 2 since he is doing so good.  He continues to enjoy eating real food and is telling me when he is hungry.  He has also started to tell me when he has to go potty, but we have yet to make it toilet.  I am sure he will be pretty easy to train since he is so advanced  for his young age. :)  The CPAP is not going that great, since he will not let me put it on his face, but we have not given up yet!  One of these days...

Last Night

Our last night in Coeur d'Alene was spent hanging out with Nick, Teresa, and her family.  We always love hanging out at the Bell homestead, and this night was no different.  Carter really enjoyed playing in the woods.  It is hard to come by good friends like Nick and Teresa, and we were so lucky to be able to spend so much time with them.  Thanks guys for the great night, and boys, next time the girls will rock the Euchre game (as long as it is not Father's Day!)

So Proud!!

Remember how my little man has tons of problems eating, and does not gain any weight??  Well, fear no more, we are finally on the growth chart!!!  Carter's 18 month check up was the best he has ever had!!  Let me give you the stats:
Weight: 23.1 pounds (17%)
Length: 31.5 inches (25%)
Head: 19 inches (50-75%)
That is right, we went from not being on the chart at all, to the 17% in 2 months!!!  Crazy!!  When we went to see the GI doctor last week, he said to get him off the Boost or else we might have a big boy on our hands!!!  I am so proud of you Carter, I know how hard you have worked to put on that weight!!!!  Lets hope he keeps up the good eating habits!!!

The Lake

We took Kenai out to Lake Coeur d'Alene to do some swimming one night before dark.  I of course took my camera, and had a blast.  We ended up staying late enough to get the perfect lighting.  I have never taken pictures before in light like this, and it was amazing!!!  And, Kenai of course had tons of fun swimming in the cool water.

The Good Old Days

OK, I now have endless amounts of time to blog, so let me catch you up on the rest of our CDA trip.  My best friend from nursing school, Bre, and her Mom Arlene made the drive into CDA for a lunch date.  It was a blast, and the best part was that our sweet boys got to meet each other.  Baby Jack and Carter are almost one year apart to the day.  It was good to remember the days of nursing school and to also catch up on what has been going on since then.  Arlene made me an awesome bag that I am now addicted to, so Thank You for that!  It was a great time, and really made me miss living close to good friends!!  Thanks for coming you guys, and Baby Jack, you are so sweet!!!
New cupcake shop in town we just had to try.
