Coeur d'Alene

Here are some pictures from our last few days in Coeur d'Alene.

Come Back

Yesterday we stopped in Missoula, MT for lunch. As I was getting Carter back into the car, his birthday balloon from Jason and Steffany decided to make a run for it. It escaped into the big blue sky, never to be seen again. I was sad because it had lasted over a week, made it from Bozeman to Coeur d'Alene, and was supposed to make it back to Utah. Oh well, I guess it was time to say goodbye! Happy Birthday Buckaroo!

Last day of '09

I can not believe how fast 2009 has gone. When Tim started medical school, 2010 seemed so far away. And now, it is just a few short hours till we ring in the new year. 2010 will be Tim's last full year of Medical school, and it is going to feel oh so good!!! This year has been a hard one for our small family, yet full of so many other joys. Carter has proved to us just how amazing and strong he is. We are so proud of him! Some highlights of this past year:

~ Tim passing his first set of board exams.
~ Not selling our house in Kirksville!
~ Moving to Utah.
~ Mom and Dad coming to stay for 2 months.
~ Carter had the Mandibular Distraction.
~ Dad doing an amazing job fixing up this house!
~ Having lots of the Kay's over for Thanksgiving.
~ Carter getting his Palate repaired.
~ Carter celebrating his first birthday (At Chico none the less)!!
I have a feeling 2010 will bring lots of great blessing to our family. Have a wonderful night ringing in the new year!!!

Christmas '09

Carter had a wonderful 2nd Christmas. Santa was good to us all. Carter is getting into the groove of opening presents. He got spoiled, and so did I. Santa brought me a new lens for my camera, so I am going to have lots of fun seeing what I can do with that bad boy!! Thanks Santa!! Merry Christmas to all, hope it was a great day!!!

Cake

I think I forgot to showcase the cake that Uncle Jason made for Carter for the big day, so I want you all to see it. It is obvious that lots of love when into it, and it was adorable! Plus, I think it is super cute that it had to be labeled! Thanks!!
Here is the other cake that we had made for Carter. There was not nearly as much love put into it, but cute it was! Both cakes were wonderful, and Carter loved them all!!!

Happy Birthday

Oh baby Carter, you had a wonderful day! You are so cute when we let you have your own cake. Such a happy baby when we let you go for it! I can not believe how much you can eat!! It amazes me. We had a great party for you here in Coeur d'Alene, and your friend Isaiah came over. You are such a loved baby and I hope you know that. Happy Birthday my sweet little one!!

Carter is ONE!!

Today my baby turns ONE! I can not believe how wonderful Carter has made my life and how much life has changed this past year. I could never have imagined it would be possible to love this much and this deeply. Carter is truly the strongest and bravest little soul I have ever met. I really don't think I can put into words what you mean to me Carter, so maybe a list will help:

~ I love the way you smile when I walk into your room in the morning.
~ I love how you go around the house all day saying your own name.
~ I love those deep blue eyes of yours.
~ I loved how you would always smile at Mom and Dad the second day after surgery. Truly the best feeling.
~ I loved how you came into this world 3 weeks early so your Daddy could help out more with you.
~ I love how you give lots of kisses.
~ I truly admire you for how hard you had to work early in life just to eat and breathe. You are a trooper.
~ I love how you say "Mmmmmm" when you are eating Chocolate.
~ I loved how much you liked to snuggle when you were first born.

Really Carter, I love everything about you. You are the most laid back kid I have ever met. You had so many struggles this past year, and yet you still would smile at me each and every day. You will never know how much you have changed me and made me a better person. You have given me so much my little man. I love you Carter with all my heart. Happy 1st Birthday sweet angel!!! Love, Mommy

Montana

We headed for Bozeman on Saturday morning to spend the weekend with Jason and Steffany. It was really sweet because they made a cake for Carter so we could start the big Birthday Festivities with them.

It took Carter a little bit of time to get into the cake, but once he was in, it was all over. (Really, can you blame him? The cake was made out of Beets...)

On Sunday we headed out to Chico for Carter's first Hot Spirngs experience. In true Carter fashion, he just lounged in the water and throughly enjoyed himself. He loved all the attention and gifts from Jason and Steffany. We were sad to leave Bozeman and Jason and Steffany. Thanks for the great time you guys! We love you!!!

Wow

Tim brought this home today and was so proud of himself. Have you ever seen such a big Apple Fritter????

First Haircut

My baby had his first Haircut today. I can not believe how big he is getting! Next week my baby will be ONE!!!!! He did so well during the cut. He cried at first, but after the bubbles came out he got excited, and then when the movie started he was all set for a long sitting.

Just When

TUBBY

Just when things were looking so good for Carter, our world came crashing down on us. Last night I noticed a hole in his palate. We knew this was a possibility after surgery, but really, can we not get a break with this little guy? He seems to always fall on the crappy side of the statistics. Tonight he had dinner coming out of his nose. I lost it. He has been through so much, it is just not fair. So, as of now we wait and hope that it will close up on it's own by our Dr's appointment the first week of January. If it does not close up on it's own, then it is back to surgery. Another time giving my son away to anesthesia, another hospital stay, another horrible recovery with my little man in pain... So if you need anything to wish for this Holiday Season, can I ask that you wish for Carter to heal that hole himself?

So I realize I am about to get in trouble here for not updating you all in a few days. We have been busy getting ready for Christmas and taking care of Carter. He is doing so well for what he has gone through. Here's a quick run down of everything:

~ We have not used the Haberman Bottle since Friday, so I am calling us officially switched to the Sippy Cup!!!! What a stud.
~ Today is his last day of antibiotic, for the first time since October 6th!!
~ We are down to just taking Lortab twice a day.
~ We have not had any food come out of the nose since December 2nd!
~ I have not taken any pictures of Tubby all decorated yet, sorry!

Oh Christmas Tree

On Saturday we went out the a local tree farm to pick out a Christmas tree. It was a perfect day for it, with snow flakes in the air to make it feel like Christmas. Carter held up well, and seemed to enjoy being out of the house for a bit. The tree is a bit bushy, but it is cute. We named him Tubby! It will work perfect for Carter's SECOND Christmas!

Sippy

Carter ate Grandpa's sweet potatoes like crazy tonight for dinner. (Thanks Grandpa, you are going to have to come back when they run out.) I thought I would fill up his sippy cup with juice to go along with the potatoes and see what he would do. Now, let me tell you how hard we have worked on getting him to drink for a sippy cup. It has been going on for months, and all Carter would do was push it away. Well, tonight was a different story. He was actually crying in his high chair wanting more from the cup when you took it away! Amazing!! He drank a whole 2 ounces of juice from it, and later another 1.5 ounces of milk from it. What an improvement. Lets hope things keep looking up!

Day 3

It is the 3rd day after surgery, and we all know that means cranky, cranky little man. However, Carter is doing great. He slept well last night, only waking up about 3-4 times. Gave him his pain meds and he was back down for the night. He was hurting when he got up, but was soon consoled with a little milk. So far today he has drunk 8 ounces, which is great for this stage. I can already tell that he has suction, you don't even have to squeeze the bottle for him any more! He is down for his second nap of the day. Loving to sleep on his belly is causing quite the problem with those arm restraints on. Poor guy! He has learned however that he is still able to crawl and climb up on things with them on, just takes a little more work! And, he is really good at whacking balls on the floor around. Anyways, we are so glad to be home and to have our own beds to rest in. Carter is still such a trooper, and will be back to his normal self in no time!!

For Mom and Dad: Kenai is super sad. She has been dragging herself around here all day. She wants Mema and Grandpa to come back!!

Home

We got home around 7:00 tonight. Carter is doing well and trying to sleep right now. To say we are exhausted is an understatement. Let hope this is the last surgery Carter has to go through for a very, very long time! He is the bravest little man I know. The house sure is lonely and empty feeling with Mom and Dad gone. We miss them like crazy, and I am sure tomorrow by myself will only solidify that feeling. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes for Carter, we all feel loved. Goodnight!!

PS: Having an 11 month old in restraints constantly sucks. Really sucks!
PPS: We had 99 visits to the blog yesterday. Fun fact I guess, but really people could we not have gotten just one more???

Waiting on the paperwork to go home!!! :)

Still waiting to see if we get to go home today. Carter is doing well, ready to get out of this place. He has eaten 6 ounces of milk today, so we will see if that is good enough.

I would hate for you all to wake up and not have new pictures of my little man, so here you go. Last night was rough for Mommy, but Carter tried to sleep really well. His pain seem to not be too bad this morning, and he actually gave me kisses when I got him out of bed. I snuggled in his neck for the first time in 2 months! It was amazing. We just have to get him eating now. They cut the stitch out of his tongue this morning, so that should help with wanting to eat. Did you know we can start him on a regular bottle at any time now??? Yeah, no more 25 dollar nipples!!! Anyways, we are still hoping to go home today, but it wont be till probably later. I will keep you updated!!!

There's my man just now. We are so proud of him, he is a strong little boy!!!

Carter is out of surgery and we are up on the floor. Just working on keeping him breathing well and controlling his pain. It might be a long night.

Repair

Carter is in surgery right now. He did wonderful again going back with the anesthesiologist. Right before the surgery, I asked Dr. Muntz to clean out his ears for me. It was a good idea, because when he did it, a lot of fluid came out of both ears. So, they are also going to put in tubes along with taking out the distraction pins, and repairing the palate. He is our little trooper, and we are super proud of him!!!

Timmy

Have I ever told you I have the best husband in the world? Well, I do! He is a great Daddy to Carter and a wonderful friend and husband to me. He works so hard in Medical School so that one day he can be the best Doctor possible. Carter and I are super proud of him, and love him more than anything!!!

Thanksgiving

Carter's first Thanksgiving was a success. We had a great time with lots of family at the Half -way- House. The Chartier family came up from Durango, Caleb came down from Alaska, Uncle Jimmy came up from Texas, and The Kay's came down from Bozeman. And, of course, Mom and Dad were here. There was a whole lot of eating and drinking going on. It was a grand ol' time. On Saturday night, we took a trip down to the Mormon Temple to look at the Christmas lights. They put up quite a display and it was very beautiful. The highlight was probably Tyler seeing God (And the Andrea telling him to stop asking questions because she didn't know the answers!). I think everyone had a great time. It sure is so different living in Utah instead of Missouri. Actually getting to see family is wonderful! And, I must say Tim did a wonderful job putting up with my family. Thanks Honey!

Carter is scheduled for Surgery on Wednesday. Unfortunately I think some of his Cousins left him a present and now his has a horribly stuffy nose. I will call the ENT office tomorrow and let them know what is going on. Hopefully we will be able to go through with the whole surgery and just get it done!

Update

Carter's pins are infected yet again, or still, which ever. We have him started on a new antibiotic which seem to be working. We will keep him on it till surgery next Wednesday. If the infection comes back before then, we will have to go to surgery sooner. So, lets hope this works and that we can hold out till the 2nd.

It's Never too Early

It's never too early to get them ready for the slopes!!!

First Word

Carter after his first word: Ma!!! 11/18/09

Carter just said his first word!! It was so adorable, especially since it was Ma!!!! Tim is so jealous. All that has come out of Tim's mouth since is Dada. It was awesome, and Mema and Grandpa are witnesses. I am so proud of my little boy, especially since we were pretty sure we were going to have to wait for his first word until his palate was repaired!!! Ahhh, Ma!!! What could be better!!!!

Another One

Carter is scheduled yet again for surgery on December 2. He will have the distraction device removed (Yeaaaa), and he will also have his palate repaired. I am so excited to get that stuff off his face and to be able to cuddle in his neck again!! The surgery will be 2 hours long about, and we will hopefully be able to leave the hospital the next day. Dr. Muntz told us to plan on a few days in the hospital just in case it takes a while to get his eating up to par. I can honesty say I am tired of my baby boy being in pain and having to go through all this. I know it is the best to have all this done at once. That way we only have to go under once, but I am not ready just yet. I feel bad for little Carter and just want to give him a break. Oh well, soon all this will be over. Mom and Dad leave on the day of surgery and I am trying to talk them into staying for a few more weeks. What's a couple more days??? Carter will have to be in arm restraints for about 2 weeks, so I am really not looking forward that that!!!! So, keep my little man in your prayers, he needs them!!!!!

Oh Dear

Oh Dear, not blogging for a whole week causes me to have to go through a whole lot of pictures on my camera, and takes a lot of time. So, here we go...

Last Friday, Carter met a new girlfriend. Elle has Pierre Robin also, and is going to be having the Mandibular Distraction on December 2nd. We got to meet her and her Mom for some good ol' talking about theses little guys. It was a lot of fun to meet this sweet dear, and we wish her the best on her upcoming surgery!! Carter loved to talk to her, I tried to tell him not to tell her Horror stories, but he kept going on and on. He apparently had lots to tell her about the surgery.

Are they not adorable together???

Tim and I went on a hike this weekend to Snowbasin. We took Kenai and left Carter at home with Mema and Grandpa. It was tons of fun and also the first time Tim and I have done anything alone since Carter was born. Thanks Mom and Dad!!!

Carter really only likes to eat 3 things: #1- Milk, #2- Ice Cream Sandwiches, and #3....

RED LICORICE!! Thanks Grandpa.

Tonight I made a peach pie for Grandpa to give him a boost to finish the bathroom. He is getting oh so close, and hopefully soon we will be able to enjoy the new bathroom!!!

Carter update: His pin got infected last Friday, so he is back on the antibiotics. They seem to be looking better, so hopefully soon we will not have to clean those things 3 times a day. Because you know he loves to have them cleaned. We see the Dr. on Monday, so hopefully then we will know a date for the surgery to remove the pins. I can tell you it cant come soon enough!!!

Hummm

I went to the store today and left Mom to babysit Carter. This is what Carter looked like when I got home. Way to go Mema!!!

Boo

Yesterday was Carter's first Halloween. Ever since his surgery, I have been talking how I wanted to dress him up as Frankenstein. I was not successful at finding a costume to work, so I just used the pumpkin outfit and gave up on the idea of Frankenstein even though he would have made a very good one with all that stuff on his face. Tim and Carter loved handing out candy to all the trick or treaters last night. One family came up to the door to get some treats, and Tim and Carter answered the door. The Mom looked at Carter and said "Oh cute, Frankenstein!" Really?? I guess the pumpkin outfit work just fine!!

Pro

Here are the rest of the Professional Pictures. I love them!!!! Let me know which ones are your favorites so I can get them out to you. I am assuming most people want at least a 15x17 of my little man :).

Consolidation

On Tuesday the 27th, Carter went in to have his Consolidation bars put on. We had to stop distracting his jaw on Saturday due to the extreme amount of pain he was in. We did not know what was going on, but we could no longer let him suffer like that. It was a sad realization, because we did not get the jaw pulled out as much as it needed to be. And also the right side of his jaw needed to come out more, and we were not able to do that. So, the surgery did not go as we had hoped, but we gave it our best shot. Our main goal was to improve his breathing, and that was accomplished. For the future, he will need lots of orthodontic work, and possible the Mandibular Distraction again.

We had to go into the OR to have the consolidation bars put on due to the amount of pain Little Carter was in. It is always hard to give your baby up when you know they are going to put him to sleep. I am not sure I will ever get used to it. While they were in there, they were able to find out that the top pin on the right side had pulled through the bone. That is why he was in so much pain. I could only imagine how bad that had to hurt. It just breaks my heart thinking about it. He now seems to be doing much better, and we have gotten lots of smiles out of him finally. The consolidation bars will probably stay on for about 6 weeks, and then we will finally be able to get in his neck again and give him kisses!!!!
Tim is finally feeling better after surviving the flu. He however has passed it on the Carter and Me. I did get Carter started on Tamiflu, so hopefully that helps him through this. Seriously, he has been through enough this month!!!
The pictures are just before surgery. Sorry no pictures of his New Bling yet, I will try to get on that tomorrow.

Deulings

Nick surprised Teresa with a trip to come see us this weekend for her Birthday! They got here on Friday night and stayed until Monday afternoon. We had so much fun hanging out with them and little Isaiah. We spent most of our time in Park City checking out the sites and hanging out in the hot tub. Mom and Dad came with us, and I think they really enjoyed finally getting away from all the house work. On Monday, we went to Antelope Island to see the great Salt Lake. No Buffalo burgers, but whatever. The weekend was great except for the fact that Tim got the H1N1, and Carter was in tons of pain due to the fact that one of his pins slipped through his bone.
We loved having the Deulings here, and can not wait to see them again. Come again soon, we miss you!!!!

Seriously

Seriously, do I have to have the cutest baby in the world?? He can get away with anything!!!

Poor Boy

Ahhh, sleeping on my back finally!!! It feels soooo good!!!

Carter had a horrible day yesterday. He seemed to be in terrible pain for hours and hours on end. It was worse than any day we had in the hospital because we were with out the IV pain meds. I have no idea what happened to him, my best guess is that he could have fallen on the pins and irritated them. They were bleeding some, so that is how I have come to that conclusion. He would not let me put him down, and he would just whimper, yes, whimper. It was heart breaking. I would walk him around the room for hours and when I would go to bend my knees to sit down, he would start to cry again. It was horrible. Today he is some better, but not himself. We see the Dr. again tomorrow, so hopefully he will have some answers for us. We are so tired of distracting him. We had originally thought we were only going to have to do the distraction for 10 days, and now we are on day 12, with still quite a ways to go. His breathing is still awesome when he is sleeping, so that is a blessing!!!

Distration

Carter has been doing so well since he has gotten home. Last night he slept in his bed, on his back, and we could hardly hear him breathing!!! It was so amazing!!!! It just makes us so happy to see his chest rise like a real person, in no distress at all. We are so happy with the progress he has made. It truly has been such a blessing to see him no longer in distress.
We went to his first Dr. appointment today. Dr. Muntz distracted him to the side so we had more room to move forward with his jaw. It is really neat how the distraction process itself seems not to hurt him. The resident was very excited to see Carter and said Carter was his favorite patient. It was cute. We are going back on Monday for some more distractions.
So, all in all Carter is doing amazing, he is off the pain meds and making great strides towards breathing like a champ. Go Carter Go!!!!

Home

We got to finally go home on Saturday. It was so great to finally walk out of the hospital with our little man after 5 days there.

Friday, October 9, 2009

Day 4

Today was the best day yet! Carter got some OK sleep last night, and woke up ready for a nap again. We did his first distraction this morning for the first time, and again tonight. He handled it really well, and it is easy to do. Mom and Dad came again today, while Tim and I took a walk outside. Carter ate 16 ounces today, and is working on another bottle right now. He is looking so much better. We are just using the Lortab now for pain. If all goes well tonight, we should be heading home tomorrow!!! We can not wait, especially since we now have a noisy roommate!

Oh My Goodness

Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures Brooke!!!!!!!! Theses are soooo amazing, I got goosebumps when I saw them. Can Carter get any more cute??? Check them out at:

I know, you love them too don't you????? Thanks again Brooke, they are so amazing!!!

Improving

These past few hours, we have noticed a big improvement in Carter. He is smiling, laughing, and giving fives. He took a couple of good naps in my arms today, and got to take a sponge bath. He also received a nice surprise delivered to our door. Uncle Jason and Aunt Steffany had a dog and balloon delivered to him. He is in love with both. His favorite color is red, so the Elmo balloon was just prefect. And the dog, Tim and I have named Scrappy. Once you meet Scrappy, you will understand. We are not sure how Kenai will get along with Scrappy... But Carter loves him!!
Happy Birthday Grandpa. Sorry we could not see you today, but Carter ate some Ice Cream to celebrate.

Day 3

Last night was a rough one. Carter seemed to be in a lot of pain, and was not able to go to sleep until 3:30 AM. They came in to draw blood at 6:00, so his sleep was short lived. He is now asleep again, with a lot of pain meds on board. Hopefully he will be able to get some rest today. The doctors will be coming back at some point today to remove his drains and the distraction starts tomorrow. Oh the fun never ends.
The sleeping accommodation at the hospital suck, but their complimentary breakfast cart rocks. Tim found a couch in the middle of the hall last night to sleep on. I slept on a tiny pull out chair. Dr.Muntz said if we were comfortable with the distraction, then we could possible go home on Saturday. Lets hope for that!!!

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

The IV that they had started in surgery infiltrated tonight. They had to start a new one, that they thankfully got on the first try. It was horrible for both Carter and Me (Tim somehow planned to be down getting dinner at the time...). Carter is now finally resting peacefully in his own bed. Let hope this last all night. He ate about 6 ounces today.

Day 2

Carter slept well last night, only woke up about 3-4 times. We are keeping him nice and up on his pain meds so we don't have to play catch up later. He is seeming to be in quite a bit of distress at this time, and wont sleep. We got out of the ICU this afternoon and are now on the Med/Surg floor. Mom and Dad came up for a visit and babysat for us while we took a walk outside. Well, Mom babysat, and Dad, as you can see in the pictures took a nap. Let hope for lots of sleep tonight for Carter and to a better day tomorrow!
Carter's new name: Chipmunk.
These are all the pictures we have taken today. I don't have the energy to sort through them and just post the best, so you get them all. Enjoy.

Out of Sugery

We finally got to see Carter around 4pm. He is in the ICU for the night and doing well. There were no complications with surgery. We are so glad to be done with the surgery itself. Carter is still a bit drowsy, but such a love. The nurses said he just tried to climb out of the bed right when he woke up. Everyone is of course in love with him. We are so proud of him and cant wait for him to start feeling better. Hopefully tomorrow morning we will be able to go to the floor where the room will be a little more private. We are also looking foward to feeding him in the morning. It looks like we will be here until Sunday or Monday. Keep him in your prayers, he needs them!! Warning to Uncle Jason: Pictures may be too graphic for your stomach and heart, I am warning you!

Pre-Surgery

Carter went into surgery around 12:30. Every body here has been so nice and helpfull. It was horrible handing him over to the anestologist, but we got through it. Carter just looked him in the eyes and went away with him. It was the worst feeling in the world. Mom and Dad got to come back with us, so that was nice. He is a trooper and a tough kid. We love you Carter!!!

Pickin'

This past Friday, we decided to go out in the country and find us some Apples. So, Dad, Mom, Kathy, Carter, and I all set out on a little adventure to pick Apples. This place was a cute family owned place, that also had a big pumpkin patch. It was a lot of fun, a long drive, but so worth it.
Carter goes in for the Mandibular Distraction tomorrow. It is set to start at 12:30. He needs your thoughts and prayers. Thanks for all the love!! I will keep you updated on my little champ.

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

October 6th is the date for surgery. That is only 1 week away. And now it seems oh so real.

Study- Done!!

And another one down!! Now all the bedrooms are done upstairs. It has been a lot of work finally unpacking the last of our boxes, but oh so nice! And, my goal has been met: I wanted all the bedrooms painted before Mom and Dad came!!! Yeah!!

AFTER

Beautiful

This is where Tim and I went after meeting with Dr. Muntz on Friday. It helped clear our heads, and let us appreciate what a beautiful place we are now living in. I love fall colors especially since I never got to see them living in Alaska. The trees still have green leaves it seems like when it snows!! I cant wait to take Mom and Dad up this road, they will love it!

Mandibular Distraction, I guess that is the final answer. My heart still hurts, probably even more.

Heavy Heart

Dr. Muntz called me this evening. Sleep study was really bad... We are meeting with him tomorrow to decide between the Mandibular Distraction Surgery or the Tongue-to-Lip Adhesion. My heart hurts.

Good thing we finally found Mr.Giraffe (name still to be decided).

Meet Mr. Giraffe

Ever since I have know that Carter is going to need surgery, I have had this nagging need in the back of my head. I really wanted him to have a special stuffed animal he could take with him to the hospital so he would feel the comfort of home. One he could take back to surgery with him, and one he could wake up with when I can not be there. It just seems really important to me. So, I have been on a mission to find this special critter (can you believe Carter actually does not have even one stuffed animal??). Today I found him, I think, well, he is pretty soft, and totally cute, so I think he will do. Meet Mr.Giraffe.

Really cute huh? I hope he makes Carter feel loved and smells like his bed at home when we are at the hospital.
So I need your help. Since Carter is not old enough to talk, I need help thinking of a super special name for this Giraffe. All suggestions will be taken into consideration, so please leave your comment with a perfect name. For all those cousins reading this, please leave your feed back as to what a kid might name this little guy. It is important after all....

Bavarian Cream

So I am a blog stalker. Yes, that is right, I love to read all kinds of blogs, people I know, and people I don't know. One of my favorite blogs: http://pizzaandrootbeer.blogspot.com/ is written by a fellow ATSU graduates wife. She is honestly the best cook! If I ever need something to make for dinner, I just go to her site. She honestly has the best, best recipes. So this past week she posted a recipe for Raspberry Bavarian Cream. Honesty, I have no idea what Bavarian Cream is, but it just sounded that good. Tonight, I spent 2 hours making this thing, dishes where every where, but I was just amazed with how great my creation looked. They have to sit in the fridge for a while, so I turned my back to open the fridge to put them in, and you wont believe what happened... Actually, I still can not believe what happened... Tim at that very moment spilled bleach solution all over the counter and my Raspberry Bavarian Cream!!!! What the?! Needless to say, we are not on talking terms at this time. But, you all know me, and I could not let a good dessert go to waste. So, I ate it. It was amazing, of course (Thanks Katherine), but the last taste in my mouth was bleach. Raspberry Bavarian Cream Bleach!!

Carter Fix

Here is your weekly dose of Carter pictures. The little man has learned quite a few tricks this week. The first being he can now climb all the way up the stairs. Yesterday he started waving "Bye Bye", and today he started giving Fives. I guess that is what happens when you turn 9 months!!! Yep, that is right, Carter is now 9 months old. At his 9 month check up, he weighed 15 pounds, and was 26" long. He is still not on the chart, but we are making our way back up to it. I guess that is what happens when you add a little whipping cream to his milk instead of water!! GO Carter GO!!!

Survived

Carter and I survived yet another sleep study in his short life. He was such a champ. Even with all the cords hooked up to him, he still smiled like crazy. He slept really well until about midnight, and then it all went down hill. He was doing his "I cant breathe sleep". I am sure it looks really horrible on paper. But we will have to wait 2-3 weeks to find out. Lets hope for the best.
On a side note, they gave Carter a blanket while we were there. It is cute, with footballs on it. When they gave it to him, I thought "what are you doing? Those blankets are for the sick kids, not my kid. Some little Grandma spent time making those for the sick kids, not Carter." I guess we are the sick kid, and I hate it. I hate having to go to the hospital because it is a reminder that my sweet little boy has all these problems. It is so sad. I wish we never would have heard of Pierre Robin. And I bet Carter feels the same way. Oh how great it would be to breathe!!!!
On another side note, we left the hospital about 7:00am. It was shift change, and all the nurses were frantically running up to their floors to get report. Oh how happy I was not be one of them!!! I love staying home with my little guy!!!! Even if we do have to got to sleep studies.

This one is blurry, but it shows that he still is just smiling!! Love it!

Date Night

Timmy and I went to a local park here for a "Date Night" tonight. It was fun to get out with the kids and enjoy a nice picnic at a beautiful park here. Kenai had fun, and of course there are tons of pictures from the night.

In Love

I am so in love with this little thing! Thanks Aunt Becky and Aunt Martha!!!! I am now able to see my little man breathe at night while he is sleeping. It is such a blessing. I did not have to get out of bed a hundred times last night to check on Carter, I just looked over at the TV. So great!!!!!
