Mema is Here

So Mom made it in safe and sound. We are sososososo sad that Dad could not make it due to the fact that the heater was not working at home on the day they were set to leave. We wish so much that he could have come to meet Carter. We are enjoying Mom being here and having the extra help. What a blessing!! Carter is doing well and continues to be the best thing that has ever happened to us.

My Boys

Well, our little man did not get to come home today, but we wanted to dress him up in his coming home outfit anyways, because, well, that is just what we needed to do. It is a little big for him, and gave us some big laughs. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. We love you.

Carter has arrivied!!!!

Carter Joseph Ochoa was born on 12/22/08 at 12:22pm. He was a whopping 7 pounds 7.4 ounces and 20 inches long. Pretty big for 3 weeks early.
After 14 hours of labor I pushed him out. He is super cute and full of love.
We are in the hospital now and get to go home on Christmas eve.
All the nurse love to hold him and say "he's a real cuddler." Tomorrow Carter gets to meet his big sister, Kenai. Tim is a good dad and loves to hold him on his chest.
More details to come stay posted.

Presents!!!

Today was great for Baby Carter, he got two packages in the mail. The first was from his Aunt Heather and the family. It was great, he got the family blanket (adorable!!), a fleece blanket that Heather made and and a cover up so you cant see me nursing thing that Heather made. Very creative!!! She also sent a sleeper for him, some pacifiers, and boobie cream!!! Yea, I am set. Thanks so much you guys, Tim and I love it so much and appreciate all the hard work you put into it!!
We also got a box from Aunt Steffany and Uncle Jason. Inside were socks, a cute little winter hat, a onesie, and a neat light from Ikea. And, our personal favorite was a capilene onesie. Totally fits what our family is all about. He will be a stud next year learning how to ski with his capilene onesie on!! HAHAH! Thanks guys, we loved it!!!

Week 37

Yeah, if baby Carter is born this week, he will be considered full term!! We went to the Doctor yesterday and he said I was 3-4 cm dilated, so I dont know if I will be making it to January 10th. Come on tax return, come on! Tim is now on break, so it would be nice if Carter decided to come while Tim could spend a little more time with him.
The other excitement of the week is that Jessica and Joey had their baby boy last night: Bjorn Oltman!! We went and saw him just after he was brand new. Adorable baby he is, and I am not just saying that because I feel I am his Aunt. He really is cute. So congrats to them!!!
We also got a baby package last night from Heather and Rodney and all the kids. It was a sleeping bag for the car seat and a sleep for Carter. Love it so much, and we cant wait to put Carter in it!! Thanks guys!!! We love you!!!

Week 36

Ok folks, I know I am looking huge now. I am not sure how much more my body can take. Still feeling good, some swelling in my ankles after work, but that just makes a good excuse for me to lay on the couch while Timmy makes dinner!! It snowed about 3 inches here today and you would think the world was coming in an end, schools closed and what not. Funny, but I got to come home from work early because of it, so I am not complaining too much! Have a great week!

Crunch Time

Today was a great day!! I got to come home super early since I had worked so much earlier in the week. While I was home, I started to wash all Carter's clothes so we will be ready for him. And, the post man delivered a box from Andrea that I had been waiting for. Yea, so many clothes for the little guy, I am so excited that he will no longer have to go around naked!!! Thanks so much Nanna!!!!
We also went to see the Doctor today. Everything is looking good. Dr.Early said the baby has his head engaged now, and he would not be surprised if I had him in two weeks. Yep, two weeks, that is scary!!! I better get back to washing and cleaning, my time might be limited!!!

Week 35

This weekend was wonderful. Tim and I decided to leave town and head to Kansas City for one last shopping trip before Baby Carter comes. We spent many hours in Babies R Us, because frankly, we have no idea what we are doing. A very nice lady who works there took us under her wing and helped us decide on the few things that we should not live without with a baby coming into our home. It was fun. We then decided to hit up the mall, big mistake. About 2 miles before the mall we hit official holiday traffic. We thought that since we were already in the heat of it all, we might as well go all the way. So we ended up at the mall finally, walked inside and realized that that place was a mad house. We ran the whole parameter of the mall just in case we saw something we needed, but then we bailed out of there as fast as we could. Off to Costco to make ourselves feel better, and boy did it. I love Costco, and the fact that this was our last trip there with out baby was very, well, sad. We enjoyed every second of it. We then went on a wild goose chase to find a Carter's store to return an item, and ended up at a wonderful outlet mall in Kansas City, Kansas (long story at the why we ended up in Kansas, Thanks Joey!!). So we finally found the store and were. completely worn out for the day. We got home about 11:15pm and went straight to bed. It was a great day, and totally exhausting.
I have been feeling great this week. My belly is getting bigger and bigger, and I think Carter is taking up more room than he should, but we will survive. Work is getting harder, especially since I have troubles reaching the surgery table, but soon it will all be over.
Tim and I slept in today for one of our last Sunday's to do such a thing. We are not taking anything for granted these days. We went to the tree farm and cut down a tree today. I decorated it and it looks beautiful. Hope you all had a great week. We are getting excited for the baby to come, but soaking up every last ounce of peace and quiet while we have it. Blessings!!

Week 34

Wow, only 6 weeks left!!! I can not believe it, the time has gone by so fast. This week was wonderful do to the fact that I had a short work week, and Tim had the whole week off. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with friends, and we even got Jessica to try a piece of Turkey (which she said tasted like "cat food out of a can"). Vegetarians.... I am feeling great, so Tim and I took Kenai out on a couple of hikes to get some fresh air. Today, the girls here threw me a baby shower that was great fun. We got some wonderful stuff for the little guy and feel very blessed. Thanks so much, we will miss you guys dearly next year!!!
I guess the big excitement of the week is that we have decided on a name for baby boy Ochoa (sorry Dad, it is not Barney. So, if you are really set on Barney you may want to stop reading now). We made Tim's white board in his room the baby list board all week, and we each put up our favorite names. We were allowed to cross off any name we did not like, and we were not allowed to go back. Tim finally made the decision on Friday that we had the name and wrote it up on the board. I love it so much, and am really excited about it. Now, this is not to say that if when he comes out his name does not fit him, that we cant change it, but this is what we are sticking to right now. OK, are you ready.... The newest member of our family will be called: Carter Joseph Ochoa!!! OK, if you don't like it, we don't want to hear it! We thought about keeping it a secret just because somebody always has something to say bad about the names, but this is our final answer. So, only positive feedback please!!! Hope you all love it! We are excited to meet Carter and feel so blessed by all the love and support that surrounds us.

Swing

Yea, I love it that presents are starting to roll into the house now!! It is so fun putting together all the new stuff. Today we got the swing from Andrea and Ian. I am totally impressed with it, and think it is so beautiful. The baby boy is going to love it I am sure. It swings and rocks, and plays lots of different sounds with lights and all. Thanks Andrea, Ian, Kayla, Tyler, and Aiden!!!

Pack and Play

Here is the newest gift we got in the mail. Mom and Dad got the pack and play for us. This is where the little guy is going to sleep for the first months of his life, until we move and can get a crib. It is super cute, and we both love it! Thanks Mom and Dad!!!!

Word of the Week

When Mom and Dad were here last week, we were sitting at the dinner table talking about their upcoming trip to Mexico. I started to talk about the last time that we went to Mexico, and how Dad was taking Pepto Bismol prophylactically every day to keep from getting sick, and how silly that was. Dad's eyes got really big and said "I did not shove Pepto Bismol up my butt!!"
So, for all you out there that think prophylactically means to take a medicine rectally, you are mistaken. You can now ask Dad what it means, and he will be sure to give the right definition.

Week 33

Tim and I went to the doctor this week and everything looks good. I am continuing to become bigger and bigger. We are having a very hard time thinking of a name now, and getting a little nervous about that. Tim thinks I am getting a little moody, but I don't agree. I am still as enjoyable as ever. Tim is done with finals now, and has this week off to spend with Kenai. He worked very hard and got all A's and one B.
We got to go out on a hike today with Kenai at the state park. Kenai snuck in the water when we were not looking, and was very proud of herself. Enjoy the big belly pictures.

Family Time

This week was so great for me. Mom and Dad came to visit!! They were the first people we have ever had visit us in Missouri. It was great fun and meant a lot to us. Tim has finals this week, so he really didn't get to hang out with them very much, but it was kind of nice for me to have some company during this hard week. We went to the Amish town and tried to figure them all out, and the rest of the time was spent cooking, eating, and napping. It was great!!! Kenai really loved having them here, she is super sad today. Dad fixed the wall where Kenai ate chunks out of, and it looks great now. I know they will be back soon when the baby is born, but I can not help being really sad. I never realized just how lonely it was here in Kirksville until they came. Ahhh, safe travels Mom and Dad, and Thank you so much for coming!! Love you!!!!
