Birthday Boy

Carter had an amazing birthday thanks to all the family and friends who showed him love on his special day.  Tim had the day off work so he got to play with us all day!!!  To start off the day, we took him to Barnes and Noble to pick out some books with his gift card from his Aunt Heather and Uncle Rodney and all the cousins.  It was perfect because this boy loves books!!!  He is so precious, he will walk all the way back to the kids section, find the first kid looking book, and then sit down to start reading.  After about 2 hours at the book store, we took him out to lunch.  Where else would you take a kid on his birthday but to McDonald's to get a Happy Meal?!  He thought he was in heaven getting his own burger with fries!  And yes, he ate the whole thing!!!
First Book and it is Elmo!
More Elmo!!!
Trains too!!!  This place rocks!!!
First McDonald's Burger
Daddy seems to like it too!!!
The loot!  Thanks so much Alaskan Cousins!!!!

Now on to the cake.  About a month ago I asked Carter if he wanted a train cake or an Elmo cake.  His response was "Elmo Choo Choo".  Really son, not what I had in mind.  But, I wanted to make this boy happy, so I let my imagination go to work.  After many sleepless nights, I had a picture of just how an Elmo Choo Choo should look.  So I got to work, and after many calls to Aunt Heather, many many hours in the kitchen (we are talking like 20 + hours!), Elmo Choo Choo was born.  When Carter first saw it he said "Elmo Choo Choo Mama" and that made it all worth it!  Thanks Heather for talking me into taking on such a task, and thanks to Carter for coming up with such an awesome design!!  I really am one proud Mama!

We let Carter open presents through out the day so he could spend time playing with each toy before he got another one.  It worked out well, and by the time kids started to show up for his party, he was a pro at unwrapping gifts.  He had amazing gifts from all the loved ones in his life!!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The next morning, I did not even get my baby loves because all he wanted to do was play with his new toys :(
I guess that is what being 2 is all about!
Still has sleepy eyes
Hey, this thing can transport my milk for me!!!

I hope you had an amazing day baby boy!!!  I know it was tons of fun for Dad and Me.  Here is to another amazing year of your life!!!!!  XOXOXO

Two Already???

Dear Carter,
Today is your second birthday!  It is hard to believe your Dad and I have been blessed with such an amazing boy for two years already.  You continue to be the most wonderful little man I have ever met.  During this year,  you have once again faced many struggles, yet you take them on like they are no thing!  You teach me how to be a better person and Mommy every day.  Thank you sooooo much for choosing Daddy and Me to be your parents.  Now, on to the many things I love about you at this moment in time:
* How much you eat!!!  All day long!!!!
* Your laugh and smile
* Your ability to learn new things each day
* Getting you up in the morning and all you ask for is your Daddy
* The way you call Kenai "Kiki"
* Your love for books
* Curling up on the couch with you and snuggling under the blanket
* Your pure joy when Daddy gets home from work
* Your kisses, they truly are the best!
* How you changed Mema's name to Meme
* How you blow kisses to the checkers at the store
* When you come up to me and say "Hi Baby"
Oh, I could go on forever about how you make me smile every day Carter.  Just know that I love you with all my heart.  You really are the best thing to ever happen to our lives.  Love you Carter Joseph!!!!!!
Love, Mommy
XOXOXO

The Holidays have Begun!

This past weekend was quite a hit at the Half-Way house this year.  It was full of family, food, and fun.  The kids had a great time playing together, and the adults had a great time eating their way through the weekend.
Hungry
Oh yes she did!
Not up to par...
Meme
Give me a little bit of that!
You never know what he is thinking.
I am not sure it could get any better!
Sisters
Almost 60
I think the cake says "Martha"
I see a new team in the making!
I am at a loss for words...
The lady in the visitors center made us!

So, thanksgiving at our house, mexican night/Martha's 60th birthday at Steve and Kathy's house, and then Park City.  It was a great weekend.  On another note, Mom and Dad left today after being here for 2 months.  Carter and Kenai are super sad- just wandering around.  And, my laundry is still in the dryer.  Miss you guys, and I can't wait till you come back!!!!  Love to all!!!!
