Tree

So glad to see this tree get cut down before it fell on our house, but what are we to do with these big chunks of wood??

Blue

This weekend we went to a pick your own blueberry farm.  Not the blueberry picking I am used to, but it was better than nothing.  Carter was a really good picker at first, and refused to eat any berries.  But, something made him try a blueberry, and that was the end of him filling up his bucket.  From there on out, everyone went into his mouth.  It was a fun time hanging out with my tiny family.  Today I attempted my first batch of jelly, Blueberry Rhubarb.  It was lots of work, but delish!

Fairy Dust

Not long after we moved to Michigan, Carter came down with a tooth ache.  One morning, he woke up with a swollen cheek, the size of a golf ball!  After going to a few different dentist to find one that we actually liked, it was decided that we need to have the tooth pulled.  Because of Carter's small airway, it was not safe to sedate him in the office, so we had to schedule him to have the tooth pulled in the OR.  Surgery is booked out until September though, so that was just not going to work for us.  After putting it off for a few weeks, I decided that Carter was in too much pain to wait until September.  So, we rushed down to Flint, to have the tooth pulled out in the office.  He had no sedation, so he is forever afraid of the dentist now.  The whole situation was horrible, and I am hoping we will never have to do it again.
We still have to go to the OR to have some cavities filled and get his teeth cleaned.  We are on a wait list for that, so hopefully we can get that done soon.
The only positive thing to come out of this situation was that the Tooth Fairy got to visit our house.  Carter was super excited to put his tooth under his pillow, and could not wait to see what was left for him in the morning.  When he saw the money, his response was "Thanks Mommy." :)
I am once again beyond proud of you little man!  You are a trooper, and continue to prove to me how amazing of a little boy you are!

Scooter Boys

Carter waits all day for a ride down our road with his Daddy.  And then he talks about it the rest of the day.  He just loves his Daddy.

Home Sick

I don't think it is any surprise to anyone that I am home sick.  I am home sick for Utah, for my nice comfy house, in a beautiful neighborhood.  And then I am home sick for Alaska.  I love Alaska at this time of year.  I love being able to stay up all night with the sun.  I love being out on the boat, catching huge fish.  I just love that place!  So, I have to tell you when I got a package from Mom and Dad in the mail, I was beyond excited.  They had sent us a box full of Rhubarb!  I know, you can buy rhubarb at the store (well, I have yet to see any here in Michigan...) But, it is not the same.  Rhubarb from the cabin is the best and it grows like crazy.  Something with that soil... :)  Thanks Mom and Dad for the amazing package!  It was wonderful being able to have a piece of home in this town.
Carter was so excited to make a pie with the Rhubarb.

Tim's favorite kind of pie.  Yeah, he actually had two pieces in one sitting.  That is more than he eats at Thanksgiving.
