Rollin

Today Carter rolled over from his back to his tummy!!!! He was pretty surprised when he realized what he had done. As most of you already know, I found Carter in his bed at 3 weeks of age on his back. He is a tummy sleeper, and he had actually rolled over on his own. I was not sure he would ever really roll over from his back to his tummy just because he does not get to spend a whole lot of time on his back. However, my son is a genius and pulled this trick off. He also gave his first real laugh this past Sunday. Ahhh, he is growing up so fast.

Home Again

Carter and I made it back home to Kirksville yesterday. It was great to see Tim and Kenai, but we really miss Mema and Grandpa. Being back in Kirksville makes me so excited to finally move away from here. Soon, Soon.
Last Friday we left Dallas and headed for Austin to see GP. Grandpa is so cute and we love him dearly, I am glad that Carter got to meet him. It was fun just hanging out in Austin, eating Blue Bell, seeing the cousins, and enjoying the warm weather. On Sunday we took a drive out to Hill country to see the wild flowers. Unfortunately due to such a dry season, there were no wild flowers. I did learn though that Texas can actually be pretty when it is so green. We went to the birth place and ranch of LBJ. It was fun seeing Grandpa getting all worked up about that man. On Monday morning, Mema and Grandpa took us to the airport and we headed home. Carter was once again an angel on the plane and did not make a sound.
So here we are back in Missouri. Our house is still for sale and we are getting really worried about that. Soon we will be moving, lets hope that it has sold by then.

Travels

Carter and I have been on quite an adventure these past few days. We left Missouri for Salt Lake City on April 8th. Mom and Dad were meeting us there to look for housing for when we move. Carter did well on his first plan ride, and did not make a sound on the plane!! I was so excited! When we landed, Carter got to meet his Grandpa Barney and Aunt Steffany for the first time. We then drove to The Red Iguana for some good Mexican food. When we arrived at the restaurant, Uncle Jason jumped out of the bushes. It was such a surprise because we did not think he was going to make the drive down from Montana. It was so much fun getting to see him, and letting him meet Carter (they are good friends now). The next day I left Carter with Uncle Jason and Aunt Steffany and went out house shopping with Mom and Dad. We found the home of our dreams (well, not really, but with a little TLC it will be close), and put on offer down on it. Carter did so well with Jason and Steff, Thank you so much for taking good care of my little man. The next day we did some major shopping, can we say IKEA!!! That store was crazy huge and so exciting (Here we come Jessica, it will be great!)
We left Utah and headed to Durango last Saturday to see Andrea, Ian, and the Kids. It was my first time meeting Aiden. He is a doll, and super super chubby! Andrea fed us super well, and we had a great time sharing the boy's first Easter with them. The Easter Bunny was even able to find Carter there, so that was nice.
On Tuesday we left for Dallas. We spent Tuesday night at a hotel in Amarillo, Texas. We arrived in Dallas on Wednesday evening, which is where we now are, visiting Carter's Great Mema. Mema had no idea Carter and I were with Mom and Dad, it was fun seeing her surprised face when we walked in the door. Tomorrow we will be leaving for Austin to see Grandpa. Carter and I will be making our journey back to Missouri on Monday the 20th.
Carter is doing well with all this traveling, and I am very proud of him. I have enjoyed having Mom and Dad around to help take care of him, we will miss them a lot. The great news is that our offer was accepted on the house, so hopefully we will be seeing Mom and Dad more this next year in SLC.
