Children's

Yesterday Tim, Carter and I drove to the Children's hospital to be seen by Dr. Muntz, the ENT on the cleft team. We waited a long long time to be seen, but it was worth it because this guy was amazing! He spent almost an hour in the room with us, until 6:30 in the evening. In the end, he decided that Carter probably just had some kind of infection going on, possibly a sinus infection. Super scary to me if a sinus infection can cause this to happen. He started him on some antibiotics and said he would be in contact with us on Monday, and once Carter is back to his base line we will do another sleep study. Depending on what the sleep study reveals, we will then have to look at the Mandibular Distraction surgery again. Ahhhh
Carter slept well last night, so lets hope he just continues to improve. Poor little man, I have a feeling it is going to be a long fall and winter if this keeps up.

Hi Amber
I'm happy to know my blog was beneficial to someone. I debated whether or not to post everything I did but decided if I could help anyone else in the same boat, it would be worth it. The cleft group is great but PRS kids have a unique set of issues they deal with that's for sure. I hope your little guy is doing better. I hope and pray you are able to keep distraction at bay as well.
