We are Still Here
Oh boy, have we been busy. Last TUESDAY Carter and I picked up Mema and Grandpa at the airport. We dropped them back off at home, and then headed back into SLC for his Genetics appointment at the Children's Hospital. Long story short, be will be watching his eyes and bone growth for Stickler's Disease (associated with Pierre Robin). He does have short stature, so Genetics wants to see us again when he is 3 years old. If this is still a problem, at that time, they will x-ray every bone in his body and see what is going on.
WEDNESDAY we spent time with the Grandparents, taking a walk, and playing with Carter.
THURSDAY Andrea and the kids came into town to celebrate an early birthday for Mom. We love getting to see the Chariter family, so we were super excited when they finally got here.
On FRIDAY we went to the mall so Andrea could experience shopping just a few blocks away from home. Friday night Jason and Steffany got into town, so we went over to Steve and Kathy's for some awesome desert. Yummy!
SATURDAY was the big birthday day for Mom. We started out by all of us heading out to Crystal Hot Springs. It was relaxing, and the kids seemed to enjoy it tons. After that, we came home and partook in some amazing Cupcakes Grandpa got. Yummy again. About now I was starting to stress because we had hired a teenager to come over to watch all the kids while we went out to a late dinner. Steve and Kathy were going to be bringing the babysitter over when they came. Well, the doorbell rang, and I was seriously about to cry. I was super nervous about leaving sweet Carter with a stranger. But, much to my surprise (and relief), Kathy decided to forgo dinner and watch the kids for us. Oh, I do love Aunt Kathy!!!! Thank you soooo much!!!!! So, off to SLC for some Red Iguana dinner. Amazing food, drinks, and music. I think Mom really enjoyed it! We came home late and had Birthday cake. Carter was all tucked in bed safe and sounds, so I was a happy Mom.
On SUNDAY, we said goodbye to Jason and Steffany. The kids were itching to get out, so we decided to take them to the Air force Museum. I think it is safe to say that everyone enjoyed themselves and loved seeing the big planes.
Early MONDAY morning, Andrea and the kids headed back home. Boy was the house quiet!! Carter had a speech therapy appointment in the afternoon. Basically, Carter gets to play with his food, and does not have to eat anything if he does not want to. We will be seeing the therapist again next week, so hopefully we can get this little man to start eating some food.
Today, TUESDAY, Carter and I got up super early and headed for the Children's hospital for his Opthamology appointment. The Doctor felt he did not fall in the category for Stickler's Disease. He did have some near-sidedness, but not enough to warrant glasses at this time. He said probably when he turns 4 and starts going to pre-school is when he will need them. So, for now, just yearly eye checks for Carter.
Wow, I think you all should be caught up on what is going on. Mom and Dad keep me busy, so I don't have as much time to blog or post daily pictures. Relax people, I will keep trying. Happy Birthday Cousin Caleb. We love you and miss you!!!! Don't forget to check out all the POD, they are good this past week!!!

I love the cute bum picture! :) Sounds like a busy week for you guys--hopefully this week is calmer! Love you all!
I suppose there was a benefit to being hospitalized for the first week at PCH. Elle got all her lovely testing done in one week and at one place. I'm relieved for no Sticklers. Pierre Robin is plenty.
How come GP and Tim aren't in the tub with the boys? I love that Andrea looks like she is taking a dump in the picture with Tim.
I love all the pictures! Looks like you guys had a great time! Keeping Carter in our prayers.
