Utah or Bust!!!

I know all you avid blog readers have been patiently waiting to read the next chapter of Carter's life. Finally the day has come!! We have gotten some what settled into our new home here in Utah. So, here is a run down of what has been going on these past few weeks.

The Big Move
After Tim took his boards on June 20th (also the day Carter started crawling), we frantically packed up the rest of our stuff. On the 22nd, we brought the moving truck home and worked all day in the 105 degree heat to pack it up. We stayed up until the wee hours cleaning and packing. On the morning on the 23rd, Clint and Lindsay actually showed up at our house on time. We had told Clint we wanted to leave at 6:00 am, but knowing Clint and how he is never on time, Tim and I decided to set the alarm for 6:00. Well, Clint and Lindsay were so nice to help us load up the last little bit of things while I frantically cleaned the rest of the house. Finally at 7:45 am, we got the see Kirksville the rear view mirror as we drove away!! Oh what a feeling!!!!!! Our plan that night was to make it to Cheyenne Wyoming. Everything was going great until we left Sydney and realized a tornado was headed our way. Amidst the huge downpour, Tim was able to turn our big rig around on the highway. Clint and Lindsay however were not so lucky. They survived the tornado in the Men's bathroom at a rest stop. We met back up with them in Sydney, and decided to hunker down for the night. Of course everyone else thought that was a good idea, so there were no hotel rooms. After 3 more hours of driving, we found a room at 2:00am, which to us was 3:00, in Laramie. We were all so tired that it didn't matter we were probably sleeping with millions of bed bugs!!! We took off the next morning about 10. It was an exciting drive because we knew soon we would see the mountains. We arrived to our new home around 5:00pm. It was super exciting to show Tim were he would be living for the next few years. I knew he would love it. Clint and Lindsay wanted to stay the night so they could help us unload some stuff before they headed out North. We decided to back the big truck up to the house so we could get some dinner. While we were doing this, about 15-20 neighbors showed up to help us unload the truck. I don't think many of them believed that the truck could actually be completely full. What I am really saying is they had no idea what they were getting into. However, an hour and a half later, the truck was unloaded! It was a miracle, because it would have taken Tim and Me a good 2 days to do that. Plus we did not even have to touch the heavy stuff. All we did was direct to which room it went!!!! Ahhh, we are loving Utah so much!!!!!

First Hike
Since we had been working so hard on unpacking, Joey, Jessica, Bjorn, Tim, Carter, and Me (plus the two dogs) decided to scope out a popular hiking trail close to our home. It is about a 10 minute drive from the house and totally worth the hike up. At the end there is a beautiful waterfall. It was so much fun to actually be able to hike again and not get ticks all over you. I must say we were a little tired since we were not used to actually going up mountains, but it was a great feeling. I think we will be going back to Adams Canyon many more times!!

Toys
Here is Carter with his new toy that was waiting for him at the Half-way house. Thanks Uncle Jason and Aunt Steffany. Also pictures of the first injury from the house remodel.

Coeur d'Alene
After Tim got done with his orientation day, we decided to make a quick trip to Coeur d'Alene. Quick it was, but tons of fun. Tim's sister Cindy came into town with her husband and Daughter. This was the first time for Carter to meet any of Tim's family, so it was great to show him off. We also got to play a mean game of Cards with Nick and Teresa. Carter got baptized on the 4th of July at he same Church Tim and I got married at almost 6 years ago. He was super cute and just smiled the whole time.

So that should catch you up on most of what has been going on lately. I already have more pictures to post from our most recent hike, but that will have to wait till another day. Hope all is well with you!!!!
