Who has the best Daddy?
That would be Carter and Me. This past Sunday we got to celebrate Father's Day with Timmy. Carter truly has been blessed with a wonderful and amazing Father. I love seeing them interact with one another. Every time Tim comes home, Carter runs to the door yelling "Dadda, Dadda". It is sweet, and I know Carter has truly been blessed by having Tim as a Dad.
Happy Father's Day to my Daddy also. I love living in the half-way-house so we can spend lots of time with you. You are a wonderful Dad and Grandpa! We love you both!!!

Slushie
Yes, Carter is getting super spoiled once again. I think his Aunt Nanna is enjoying spoiling him rotten. I got to watch to the two older kids today while Andrea went to work, so we headed out to the lake to let Kenai swim and to have a picnic. Shhh, don't tell Nanna, having a picnic is one of her favorite things to do (says Kayla).

Colorado Bound
On Sunday, Carter, Kenai and I all hopped in the car for a 450 mile drive to visit my sister in Colorado. The drive was pretty easy except for the time the car would not start after our lunch break. It was only 100 degrees outside, and the temp inside the care was quickly increasing as I began to panic. But, the car finally started up for me and we were on our way. Carter was a trooper, and was so glad to be out of the car when we go here. We have been keeping busy playing with the kids. Carter and Aiden are super cute together and play really well for the most part. (Minus the occasional stranglings and eye gougings.)

Let the Fun Begin!
I am sure there are lots of people waiting for this blog, so here we go:
Carter and I went to go see Dr. Muntz today. We were supposed to have a scope done, but when we got there the plans changed. Dr. Muntz said he would rather keep Carter as his friend instead of making him go through the heart ache of the scope. In all actuality, I think there was really nothing we could find out from the scope, so we decided to bail on that idea. So, we were given 3 options: 1. CPAP 2. Another Mandibular Distraction and 3. A trach. Yes, that is all the options my little man has. I told Dr. Muntz he could just forget about the trach even being an option. He said he agrees, but it is still always there looming over our head. (I remember telling the very first ENT that saw Carter that a Mandibular Distraction was also out of the question. Maybe I should watch what I say...) If we do nothing and continue to let Carter breathe like this, he is looking at heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, the list goes on. If we can not get his breathing improving in the next few months, we are going to have to do an EKG to make sure his little heart is still ticking away like it should.
Game Plan: We are going to try to get Carter to use the CPAP. It is going to be a slow process, one that might take a month or so, but we are going to try our very best.
That is going to be my little Carter sleeping peacefully!!! If I am unable to get him to wear it at night, then we might have to stay in the hospital for a few days and get some big time help from professionals. Ok, so the best part: Once I get Carter to wear this thing all night, then we have to do a repeat Sleep Study with it on to see what level we need have the machine on. Yeah, just picture that blog post!!!
Our hope is that the CPAP will be able to help him out enough until hopefully his jaw grows out on its own. Dr. Muntz said there is only so far that they can bring out the jaw with a distraction, and Carter is almost there. So, Jaw grow, GROW!!!!
Dr. Muntz said that with a distraction, it is always expected that breathing would improve. However, he reminded me that Carter has yet to do anything by the books. Oh little Carter!!
I am sure there will be many posts on our progress with the CPAP, stay tuned!! If you want to say a few prayers for my little man, he would appreciate them. We need this CPAP to work and we need his jaw to grow. Thanks for thinking of my sweet boy!
