Weight Check

Yesterday was Carter's weight check.  He weighed in at 16 pounds 14 ounces.  At first I was so upset about the low numbers.  I was hoping for 18 pounds or so.  But, he is up 12 ounces in 3 weeks, so that is actually good.  He really has been working hard at it, I am proud of him.  We are sticking with high calorie foods and lots of fat for this little man.  We have a lot of catch up to be doing!!  Next week we will be meeting with a Speech Therapist who is a specialist in eating problems.  Hopefully she will be able to provide me with some good insight into being about to pack on the pounds for Carter.
I look at the pictures I am posting with this blog, and I think you can really see the love I have for this little guy.  Carter has made me so incredibly happy.  I feel so blessed that he choose me to be his Mommy.  I am really doing what I love to do right now.  Being Carter's Mommy is just the best job in the world, and I am so lucky to be able to spend every moment of my life doing it.
Happy 43rd anniversary to Mom and Dad yesterday.  We miss you guys like crazy, and can't wait to see you soon!!  

He is TROUBLE

If you ever find yourself missing something after coming over to our house, you now know where to look!  (Apparently, it might be a little dusty down the vents, which could cause sneezing.)

New Project

Many of you know I have a love for taking pictures.  This started when Carter was born of course, because I just wanted to take photo's of him all day long.  I am not very good at photography right now, and have a ton to learn.  I spend many hours on the internet each day learning all I can, and trying new things with my camera.  So, I have decided to take on a challenge: Project-365.  I am going to try to take a photo every day of the year, possibly edit it, and then post it on my new blog.  I many not get around to posting it every day, but I am going to give it my best shot!  Here's to taking the camera out every day and sharing my photo's with the world!!!  You can find the link at the top of the blog, or you can just click HERE.

Play Ball

Timmy and Jason had a mean game of Racquetball when we were in Montana. I just found these pictures.  They were pretty much like pro's out there on the court.  Notice the wound Timmy got during the game.  It was brutal.

Maybe a Miracle?

I feel like I have only had depressing stuff to say about Carter's progress lately. However, today, I will write something so amazing, it just might bring you to tears! That hole that we found in his palate after the repair, well, today, it is gone!!! The scab that has been covering it up for a few weeks finally came off and... no HOLE!!!!! What a miracle!!! Thanks for all the prayers and good vibes, they worked! We are super proud of Carter!!!!

Waterfall Canyon

Yesterday we decided to get out of the house and go on a relaxing hike. Since we have all been feeling better, it was a must. We started out at Waterfall Canyon, and it was beautiful. We didn't make it all the way to the Waterfall because I was afraid of Carter getting cold, but maybe next time.

Carter seems to be recovering faster than predicted. His cough is sounding much better, and we got the ear infection finally taken care of with some antibiotics. Yeah!!!! Now back to the mission on hand: Putting some fat on this boy!!!

1 Year Check Up

We just got back from Carter's One year Check up. Here are his stats:

Weight: 16.3 pounds (No where near the growth chart)

Length: 29.3 inches (25-50%)

Head: 18.3 inches

So, obviously we were hoping for better numbers, but that is what we got. We are blaming it on all he has gone through these past few months. For right now, all he gets to eat is Fat, Fat, Fat!!!

Carter was not able to get his immunizations because he is still sick, and very sick at that. The poor guy now has bronchiolitis. Awesome! So, here's hoping that he just gets better from here on out, because you know if this little man gets really sick with this, I might just loose it!
